TESTIMONIALS On May 4th, five women who have had or are currently undergoing cancer treatment experienced a virtual version of the dance wellness center. These women and their support person enjoyed a half-day excursion highlighting many of the same amenities that the dance wellness center will offer. Kris Wesley did not have a mirror as Wendy Schemper worked on her new hair, but Kris could see herself in the reflection of the 5 Eyewitness News camera. Seeing herself, she said aloud, "I'm pretty again. I'm so pretty. For the first time in a year I have hair - I have hair!" One of the five courageous women referred to the friendships that were made that day. She said, "We have formed a great bond now after sharing the dance wellness center experience. We all shared natural healing; something that our medications can't do for us." Kris Wesley was watching a video that a family member took shortly after the event. While watching the video she asked, "Who's back of the head is that?" She realized, "It was mine. The hair looked so real; so beautiful. I didn't even know it was me!" Jennifer Vogel explained in very real terms what the dance wellness center is all about. She said, "Face it – our looks and features (hair, eyes, etc) are our identity! We all have times where we feel that we are not looking so hot! "The Dance Wellness Center" will be somewhere you can shop, be around other ladies/supporters, and also have a spa/salon on site to help you achieve all of this. Keep in mind this is not going to be a "haven" or a place where you go when you want to sulk in your troubles... this is a place to energize your spirit and regain your confidence when going through one of the toughest battles that women face... feeling good about the way we look!!
