UPDATES January 8th, 2009 - the dance event rescheduled for February, 2010 Due to the unprecedented economic issues and the financial hardship that many families, businesses, and vendors are currently experiencing, Sara's Dance Foundation and the committee of the dance event has decided to reschedule the event originally set for Friday, January 30th at the Medina Entertainment Center. Sara’s Dance Foundation held its first fundraising event, a red carpet soiree called the dance, on February 8th at the Medina Entertainment Center. This fabulous evening included an escorted entrance onto the red carpet, butler-passed champagne, appetizers, a runway fashion show, a designer clothing swap, on-site spa and salon treatments, and shopping for merchandise in galleries around the grand ballroom. The premiere event was such a smashing success that plans are well underway for our next event to be held on Friday, October 26, 2007! For more information visit experiencethedance.com April 1st, 2007 - the dance wellness center to be featured on "On The Road” with Jason Davis On May 4th, five women and their support person will be treated to many of the same amenities that the dance wellness center will have, and Gail Brown, producer of 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS "On the Road” with Jason Davis will be capturing their experiences! Gail will be interviewing our honored guests throughout their day, discussing their illnesses and journeys, and highlighting the importance of this special day and why the dance wellness center is so vital to the social healing of those touched by cancer or serious illness. March 15th, 2007 - the dance wellness center – a virtual experience! No walls? No problem. Why wait to share the future benefit of the dance wellness center? On May 4th, five women who have had or are currently undergoing cancer treatment will have an opportunity to experience a virtual version of the dance wellness center! Sara’s Dance Foundation will be treating these women and their support person to a half-day excursion highlighting many of the same amenities that the dance wellness center will offer. Our virtual journey will begin at Lillians Shoppe in Buffalo, Minnesota where they will travel in high style via Cities Limousine & Transportation to New Reflections Spa in Plymouth to enjoy a morning of pampering, relaxation and luxurious spa treatments. Our honored guests will be treated to the ultimate private beauty makeover session, focusing on the challenges of makeup application and hairstyling for those undergoing treatment. From there we’re off to Rush Creek Golf Club for lunch where our guests will dine while enjoying the breathtaking views of the championship golf course. A jazz pianist and special appearances by several local celebrities are planned. Our virtual excursion will conclude at Lillians Shoppe in Buffalo, the ultimate shopping experience, where our honored guests can catch up on the latest trends in handbags and accessories. Our goal for our virtual day will be to see each person, if only for a while, set aside their illness by pampering their bodies, relaxing their souls, reveling in social contact, and enjoying the beauty of being a woman.
